New book reinforces importance of wealth management businesses to hire correct candidate

29 July 2013

A new book has been launched offering financial advisers and AFSL-holders important tips for dealing with the problem of hiring the wrong person.

Successful Recruitment – Transforming your business through best practice has been written to help bullet proof wealth management businesses by arming them with the advice they need to ensure they get their
recruiting decisions right and highlights how much damage one employee could do to  reputation of a company.

The 50-page e-book written by veteran industry executive turned head hunter Peter Dawson of Dawson Partnership and senior HR consultant Susan Rochester, managing director of Balance at Work, is aimed specifically at advice businesses and attempts to resolve what they see as a major problem in the industry. “Of all the threats to wealth management businesses a wrong hiring decision ranks at the front of the queue, as non-performing employees can soon become ‘the enemy within’ causing considerable damage to a company’s client relationships and its brand,” the authors have said.

The publication details pertinent information prior to choosing the correct candidate including: putting together a winning recruitment strategy, targeting and harnessing high performance candidates, getting the best out of social media, the questions you need to ask in interviews to identify the talkers from the walkers and how to beat out the competition when negotiating with your candidate.

The authors will also be running a series of workshops for financial advisers on the topic and to obtain a free copy click
